Judaism according to Jewish tradition begins with
the covenant between God and Abraham around
2000 BCE with 41% adherents are in Israel.
Monotheistic religion of the Jewish people and is
among the oldest religious traditions still practiced
today. They believe in a single, omniscient, omnipotent,
benevolent, transcendent God, who created the universe
and continues to govern it.
Judaism has traditionally valued and observed based on
principles and ethics embodied in the Hebrew Bible
(Tanakh), as further explored and explained in the Talmud
and other texts.
The basis of Jewish law and tradition is the Torah also
known as the Pentateuch or the Five Books of Moses.
According to rabbinic tradition there are 613
commandments in the Torah.
A Jew is anyone born of a Jewish mother or converted to
Judaism in accord with Jewish Law. All mainstream forms
of Judaism today are open to sincere converts, and the
process is evaluated by an authority, and the convert is
examined on his sincerity and knowledge.
